The Portfolio

The Portfolio

I cut my teeth in graphic and general web design but nowadays I specialize in design systems and UX. I started working at USAA in 2016 and due to corporate privacy policies this portfolio pretty much stops in ’16 since I am restricted from publicly displaying any USAA design work that is not readily available on USAA.com or the USAA app. Feel free to message me for password protected examples of my extensive design system and user experience work.

Star Wars Swag

With the excitement for the premier of Episode VII mounting, it was time to design some Han and Leia Star Wars swag. Get yourself some Shirts and stickers. Various sizes of The Princess and The Scoundrel prints are also available.

Artpace Website

Artpace.com needed a fresh look and a better data architecture system to effectively catalogue and display 20 years’ worth of artists and artwork. I applied my skills and expertise in wire framing, IA planning, art direction, graphics, photography, and front-end design.

Artpace Ads

Modular, Swiss Design inspired layouts to run in SA Current magazine. Type driven designs were picked to stand out in the sea of poorly chosen, stock photography ads…

WWF Poster

Concepts for a tiger extinction awareness campaign by the World Wide Fund for Nature.

J.A.M. Eats

A small, independent kitchen that produces all natural foods for local farmer’s markets. A warm and trustworthy feeling brand that provides the level of professionalism and uniqueness needed to draw in customers from the other homemade goods vendors.

St. George Episcopal School & Church Websites

SaintGeorgeSchool.org and SaintGeorgeChurch.org needed updated, responsive websites to show off the new campus and branding. Using WordPress, they were built to be easily maintained, updated, and expanded. I applied my skills and expertise in wire framing, IA planning, art direction, graphics, photography, and front-end design.

Summit Oak Homes

This home builder needed a complete rebrand to apply to trucks, a slew of different signs, a stationery package, and much more. The modern, abstracted home logo paired with clean, extended Helvetica Neue typography gave the brand the look it needed to target a more upscale market of custom home building.

Branding and stationery

Some small businesses just need a sweet logo, some branding direction, and a few pieces of stationery to let customers and clients know they mean business (pun). Here are a few examples of businesses taking their marketing to the next level.

Logo Samples

The clients that simply wanted a new logo…

OnControl Powered Bone Access

Vidacare needed a substantial brand refresh for it’s OnControl product line. The refresh spanned virtually every piece of packaging, labeling, and marketing collateral in OnControl’s repertoire. An extensive list of components were also produced for multiple tradeshow campaigns for three different target audiences in both the US and Europe.

The Enthusiast

An automotive coffee table book that focuses on the lost art of driving manual transmission cars and how driving can be much more than simply getting from A to B. All original interviews and photography from car shows to race tracks with drivers and their manual machines.

Cool detail:
Shift pattern cutout in cover with silver metallic accent.

Beasts of Burden

Another automotive coffee table book that explores the ironic love and neglect that is bestowed on work trucks and the unique patinas that only these kinds of vehicles develop. All original interviews and photography of vintage work trucks and their masters.

Cool detail:
The covers are actually printed on metal so the book feels cold and metallic.
